What is the best referral partner program for business coaches?
The short answer
The best program is one whose product your clients will keep using, because recurring commission only pays while they stay. Headline rates in 2026 run from HubSpot's 30% for up to a year and Pipedrive's 20% for 12 months to Apollo's 20% lifetime for solutions partners. SalesARC pays coaches 10% of every referred customer's recurring monthly fees.
Start with the client, not the percentage
A business coach is paid to make a client's company better. A referral program is only "best" if the product you refer helps you do that job, because a recurring commission stops the month the client cancels. A 30% rate on a tool your client abandons in month four pays less than a 10% rate on a tool they run every week for three years, and the abandoned tool also costs you some credibility in the next coaching session.
So judge a program on four things, in this order:
- Fit. Does the product solve a problem you already coach on, such as pipeline, hiring, cash flow or operations? If you would not recommend it without a commission, do not recommend it with one.
- Total payout. Rate times the client's monthly fee times the number of months the commission is paid. Duration matters as much as the rate.
- Requirements. Some programs pay more only after you hit volume targets, earn certifications or pay for membership.
- Disclosure. You will have to tell clients about the fee. ICF's Code of Ethics, revised April 1, 2025, asks coaches to disclose compensation and benefits paid or received for referrals (standard 3.8).
How the main programs compare
These are the published terms as of October 2026. Programs change their terms often, so check each page before you sign up.
| Program | Commission | How long it pays | Conditions worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| HubSpot Affiliate Program | 30% recurring | Up to one year | 180-day cookie; higher tiers by monthly sign-up volume |
| HubSpot Solutions Partner Program | 20% of net revenue | Up to three years | A services partnership; partners must reach Gold tier within 24 months to keep benefits |
| Pipedrive Affiliate | 20%, or 30% at Growth tier | First 12 months | Growth tier needs two to five sales a month for six months |
| Close Partner Program | 30% of first-year subscription | First year, with lifetime earnings "available as you scale" | Conditions for the lifetime portion are not published |
| Apollo Solutions Partner Program | 20% | Lifetime | Apply through PartnerStack and complete Apollo certification |
| SalesARC Referral Partners | 10% of recurring monthly fees | Current terms on the /partners page | One-time fees, such as the Playbook build, are excluded |
Two patterns stand out. First, most affiliate programs pay a high rate for a short window, usually 12 months, while partner programs that ask more of you (certification, a services practice, volume) pay longer. Second, the headline percentage hides the real number. A client paying $500 a month earns you $1,800 at 30% for 12 months, $3,600 at 20% for 36 months, and $1,800 at 10% for 36 months. Do the arithmetic with your clients' likely spend and likely tenure, not the banner on the sign-up page.
What makes a program good for a coach in particular
Coaches are different from bloggers and review sites, which is who most affiliate programs are built for. You refer a handful of clients, you know each one well, and you will be in the room when the tool succeeds or fails. That changes what you should look for:
- A product that moves the metric you coach. If you coach growth, a tool that produces pipeline gives you something to review in every session. If it only stores data, it becomes one more system nobody updates.
- A vendor who does the implementation. You do not want to become unpaid support for software you did not build.
- No volume gates. A program that pays its best rate at 30 sign-ups a month is not designed for you.
- Clear reporting. You should be able to see who signed up through your link and what you are owed, without emailing anyone.
When no referral program is the right answer
If your engagement is built on independence, for example you also advise the client on vendor selection, or you hold a credential whose rules limit referral income, the cleanest choice may be to recommend tools and take no fee. The CPA rules on commissions are a good example of a profession that draws hard lines here. Recommending the right tool still extends the engagement, because a client who grows keeps paying for coaching.
Where SalesARC fits
SalesARC is a sales platform for founder-led B2B companies: a sales Playbook built from the client's own calls, Prospect (a CRM with outbound sequences across email, text, calls and LinkedIn), ArcClaw™ Prospecting Agents that deliver researched leads into the CRM every week, and lead magnets with per-lead personalization. For a coach, the point is that your client's pipeline stops depending on the founder's calendar, which is usually the problem you were hired to fix. Our referral partner program pays 10% of the recurring monthly fees of every customer you refer; one-time fees are excluded. The rate is lower than several programs above, and we say so plainly.
